Rafael Ferreras received his early ballet training in New York with the Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Joffrey Ballet School. Memphis audiences know him for his leading roles in Romeo and Juliet, Dracula, The Firebird, Angels in the Architecture and Midsummers Night's Dream as well as the Nutcracker, Swanlake and The Sleeping Beauty. He also danced with Tulsa Ballet, Hartford Ballet, New Jersey Ballet and Elisa Monte Dance.
His first Main stage ballet choreographed for Ballet Memphis, Politics, debuted in New York City in 2015 to rave reviews. Other works commissioned for Mr Ferreras include Memphis Made, On The Town, Iola Southern Fields, Le Bouef Sur Le Toit,
and Constructive Critic.
Rafael's work also include collaborations with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Iris Orchestra, Hatttiloo Theatre, and Macguillivray Freeman Films.
Rafael is also an experienced teacher of classical dance with 22 years of Dance experience teaching for schools including
Ballet Memphis, Collage Dance, Jupiter Dance, Studio 413 and many other schools all over the U.S. as a guest teacher.
